Getting Here

Steading Cottage, Kirkmabreck, overlooks the village of Carsluith near Creetown, Newton Stewart, in the Wigtownshire region of Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland.

We are situated right on the coast with stunning views over Wigtown Bay and the River Cree and River Bladnoch estuaries.

Carsluith is on the main A75 Euroroute between Stranraer (30 miles) and Dumfries (40 miles).

Travelling from the north (Ayr/Kilmarnock/Glasgow), follow the M77/A77 south until Girvan where you then take the A714 for Newton Stewart.

Follow the A714 until you reach the A75 roundabout at Newton Stewart where you take the first left following signs for Dumfries (A75).

Continue on the A75 for approximately 8-10 miles and then take a left at Carsluith and then a left again, up the steel hill, following signs for Kirkmabreck.

Bus Travel

There are regular buses to and from Carsluith travelling east to Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Carlise or west to Creetown, Newton Stewart and Stranraer on the 500/X75 service.

Ferry Travel

There are regular ferry services between Cairnryan (30 miles west) - Larne, Northern Ireland and Cairnryan - Belfast, Northern Ireland.
